Listen to our Podcast: Grow your wealth and keep it secure.

Axis Bank began as a private sector bank in 1994 and has today become the third-largest private sector bank in India. Axis Bank has more than 4500 branches across India in all major cities and towns. The bank provides a variety of banking services to its customers and the opening of an Axis Bank National Pension Scheme account is one of them. Here we will take a look at how you can open an NPS account with Axis Bank and every other detail you would need to do so.

What is the NPS Scheme?

The NPS or the National Pension Scheme is a savings scheme that is focussed on providing a pension post-retirement to investors. With the help of this scheme, investors can build a significant nest egg for their post-retirement needs through regular investments. The NPS provides investors with market-linked returns and tax benefits. To add to this, NPS also guarantees annuity payouts all through an investor’s lifetime post-maturity. This creates a regular income for the investor and helps them achieve financial security.

Axis Bank NPS

If you are looking to invest in an NPS, then the Axis Bank National Pension Scheme lets you do that through its branches and website. Since the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) has authorised Axis Bank as the Point of Presence (POP) to provide NPS investments, investors seeking to do so can easily apply at Axis Bank.

Eligibility to Open an Axis Bank NPS Account

It is important to know the eligibility criteria to open an Axis Bank NPS account if you are looking to do so:

  • Age Limit: Between 18 and 70 years

  • Location: The investor must be a resident of India

How to Open an Axis Bank NPS Account?

With the help of Axis Bank, you have the option of opening an NPS account either offline or online. Here’s a detailed account of how to do both:

  • Opening Offline Account

The NPS offline account opening process is fairly simple. You need to first visit an Axis Bank branch and fill up the NPS subscriber registration form to open an NPS account and submit the same. Since all the branches of Axis Bank provide this service, you can easily visit the one nearest you.

It is important to remember to fill out all the important details asked for in the form. If you would rather fill out the form at home and submit it at the branch then you can download the same from Axis Bank’s official website.

When submitting the form, remember to attach your photographs along with it with your KYC documents. These documents are then verified by the branch office and once everything is found to be correct, your NPS account would be opened.

  • Opening Online Account

If you do not want to visit a bank branch to open an Axis Bank NPS account, you can easily do it through their website as well. Since Axis Bank has a tie-up with  Karvy Computershare Private Limited, it can provide its customers with the provision to open an NPS account online.

You need to first visit Axis Bank’s official website to begin opening your NPS account online. Next, you need to head to the ‘Apply Now’ option and choose ‘NPS’. From here, you will be redirected to Karvy Computershare Private Limited’s website. This is where you would need to fill out all the required details.

Fill in the form with all the details asked like your name, contact information, bank details, scheme details, nominee details, etc. Proceed to upload your KYC documents and also pay the NPS deposit online. Once all the details you provided are verified your Axis Bank NPS account will be opened.
