Beware of Fraudsters Impersonating Bajaj Broking

In the fast-paced world of finance and investments, scammers and fraudsters are always on the lookout for unsuspecting individuals to exploit.

With a rise in instances of reputable brands being impersonated for fraudulent activities, the first way to protect yourself is to be more aware.

Let’s look at how you can do just that.

Common Tactics Scammers Use

Fraudsters impersonating known brands, including Bajaj Broking, may use a variety of tactics to lure victims. Watch out for:

  • Unsolicited messages or calls: Scammers may contact you through phone, email, or messaging apps, claiming to be representatives of Bajaj Broking. They may ask for an upfront payment in lieu of “guaranteed returns”, “exclusive investment opportunities”, or a “limited-time deal”.

Please note, brokers or trading platforms cannot promise capital market investments with “guaranteed returns”. Bajaj Broking will never guarantee returns or make promissory statements when it comes to your stock market investments.

  • Fake websites and social media pages: Fraudsters often create convincing but fake websites or social media profiles that mimic the official Bajaj Broking branding. These include the use of brand logos, images or likeness of senior officials, and or web interfaces to solicit payments under the garb of “investments”.

Fraudulent websites tend to have an incorrect URL or a spelling mistake in the name. They also often lack secure HTTPS connections. Avoid transacting without a proper verification of the source of your information or ‘tip’.

Offers that are too good to be true: There is no such thing as a free lunch. If someone claims to be from a reputable brand and promises outlandishly high returns with little or no risk, please note that it may be an investment fraud.

If it seems too good to be true, it probably is. A legitimate broking company will always emphasize informed decision-making and transparency.

  • Pressure tactics: Scammers may use high-pressure tactics to push you into making hasty decisions. They may claim that the offer is valid only for a limited duration and is likely to expire within the hour.

Anyone who pushes you to do something against your good judgement is likely to be a scammer. Bajaj Broking will never force you with underhanded tactics to complete a trade.

  • Solicitation of confidential information: Fraudsters may also ask you to share your credentials, account number, PAN card, or OTPs.

Never share your OTP or account details with anyone. Bajaj Broking will never call you or ask for your confidential information.

How to Protect Yourself

Be vigilant and learn these effective steps to guard yourself against fraud:

  • Verify communication channels: Always check if the message/call is from an official Bajaj Broking number or email. Visit the official website (www.bajajbroking.in) for verification.

  • Avoid clicking suspicious links: Do not click on links sent via unsolicited messages or emails. Instead type the official website (www.bajajbroking.in) directly into your browser.

  • Do not share personal information: Never share your bank account information, passwords, or OTPs over the phone or online unless you can be 100% sure of the authenticity of the recipient.

  • Report suspicious activities: In case you encounter any suspicious communication claiming to be from Bajaj Broking, report it right away at connect@bajajbroking.in or 1800 833 8888.
