Bharat Heavy Electricals, India's leading power equipment manufacturer, has secured a major domestic EPC contract worth Rs 6700 crore from Singareni Collieries Company Limited. The contract involves the engineering, procurement, and construction of the 1x800 MW Singareni Stage-II thermal power project, located in Telangana's Mancherial district. The project was awarded through domestic competitive bidding and is expected to be completed within 48 months.

The project includes the supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of a boiler, turbine, generator, flue gas desulfurisation system, balance of plant packages, and electrical and control and instrumentation systems. As a key player in India's energy and infrastructure sector, Bharat Heavy Electricals will leverage its expertise to execute this large-scale power project efficiently.
The company has shown significant financial growth, with its consolidated net profit rising by 123.34 percent to Rs 134.70 crore in the third quarter of the financial year 2025 compared to the previous year. Revenue from operations also witnessed a 32.21 percent growth, reaching Rs 7277.09 crore in the third quarter of December 2024. However, despite securing a major order, BHEL share price dropped by 4.17 percent, closing at Rs 193.15 on 14 February 2025, indicating mixed market sentiment.
