State-owned Central Bank of India opened its Qualified Institutional Placement (QIP) on March 24, 2025, following approvals from its Board and shareholders. The bank has set a floor price of ₹42.62 per share, as per SEBI's pricing formula. The lender reserves the right to offer a discount of up to 5% on the floor price. The final issue price will be decided in consultation with the book-running lead manager. Shares of Central Bank of India ended at ₹46.85 on the BSE, gaining ₹1.70 or 3.77%, reflecting positive investor sentiment.
The bank reported a 34% year-on-year (YoY) increase in standalone net profit for the third quarter, rising to ₹958.93 crore compared to ₹717.86 crore in the same period last year. The net interest income (NII) grew by 12.31% YoY to ₹3,540.12 crore, up from ₹3,151.85 crore in the previous year. Asset quality saw significant improvement as the gross non-performing assets (NPA) ratio fell to 3.86% from 4.59% in the previous quarter, while the net NPA ratio declined to 0.59% from 0.69%, indicating improved financial health.
