Avenue Supermarts, operator of DMart, appoints Anshul Asawa as CEO designate. Asawa will succeed Ignatius Noronha in 2026, bringing extensive leadership experience from Unilever.
Avenue Supermarts, which operates the DMart hypermarket chain, has announced the appointment of Anshul Asawa as CEO designate and senior managerial personnel, effective 15 March 2025. Asawa, an alumnus of IIT Roorkee and IIM Lucknow, will succeed Ignatius Navil Noronha, whose term as managing director concludes on 31 January 2026.

Anshul Asawa has spent three decades at Unilever, holding key leadership roles in sales, marketing, and distribution across India, Asia, and Europe. He currently serves as Country Head of Unilever in Thailand and General Manager for the Home Care business in Greater Asia. His expertise includes spearheading digitisation efforts, product innovations, and sales transformations, particularly in India’s urban and rural markets.
