Synopsis:

IREDA sanctioned loans worth ₹9,136 crore in Q1 FY2025, a 5x year-on-year increase. Disbursements rose by 67.6% to ₹5,320 crore compared to ₹3,174 crore in the previous year. The loan book grew 33.77% to ₹63,150 crore.

IREDA Q1 Results - Reports Robust Growth

The Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd. (IREDA) reported a substantial increase in its business activities for the first quarter of the financial year 2025.

During the April-June quarter, IREDA sanctioned loans amounting to ₹9,136 crore, a significant rise from the ₹1,893 crore sanctioned during the same quarter in the previous year. This marks an almost 5x growth on a YoY basis.

Loan disbursements also saw a notable increase. In the first quarter of FY2025, IREDA disbursed ₹5,320 crore in loans, representing a 67.6% increase from the ₹3,174 crore disbursed in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

Loan Book Growth

By the end of the June quarter, IREDA's loan book stood at ₹63,150 crore. This represents a 33.77% increase compared to the same period last year when the loan book was valued at ₹47,207 crore. This growth reflects the agency's expanding role in the renewable energy sector in India.

Future Ambitions

IREDA has set ambitious targets for the future. In May, the agency announced its goal to achieve "Maharatna" status by the financial year 2030. This follows its upgrade to "Navratna" status in April.

The agency aims to significantly increase its annual disbursements to ₹1.36 lakh crore by FY2030, over 5x its current annual disbursements of ₹25,089 crore recorded at the end of FY2024, which itself was a 15% increase from FY2023.

IREDA plans to expand its loan book to nearly ₹3.5 lakh crore by the end of FY2030. This target represents a 6x growth from its FY2024 loan book of ₹59,650 crore.
