NBCC India Limited, a state-owned construction giant, has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Mahatma Phule Renewable Energy and Infrastructure Technology Limited (MAHAPREIT) on March 26, 2025. The partnership aims to jointly undertake a wide range of consultancy, fee-based, engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC), and redevelopment projects across Maharashtra. This move marks NBCC’s first significant step into Maharashtra’s redevelopment sector, following its success in urban transformation projects in Delhi.
The collaboration will focus on high-impact infrastructure projects, including cluster development in Thane Municipal Corporation, data centre setups, renewable energy initiatives, slum rehabilitation in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), and residential projects under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY). The estimated value of these projects stands at ₹25,000 crore, with phased execution planned over the next three to five years.
