Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL), a Navratna PSU under the Ministry of Railways, has been awarded a major infrastructure project by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). RVNL has emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) for a ₹554.64 crore contract involving the construction of a six-lane access-controlled connectivity road in Andhra Pradesh. The project will connect the Sabbavaram bypass (Anakapalli-Anandapuram corridor) to Sheelanagar junction of NH-516C.
The project will be executed under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM), a public-private partnership model that shares investment risks between the government and private players. Once completed, the road is expected to significantly improve connectivity to Visakhapatnam Port, enhancing trade and logistics operations in the region.
