What is an iceberg order and how does it work?

An iceberg order is a type of stock market order that allows traders to buy or sell large quantities without revealing the full size of the order to the market. In iceberg order trading, only a small portion of the total order is visible on the order book at any one time, while the rest remains hidden. This technique is a form of hidden order trading and helps prevent significant market impact that could unfavourably affect the trade's execution price.

When one portion of the iceberg order is filled, another portion is automatically placed until the entire order is completed. Bajaj Broking provides access to various stock market order types, including iceberg orders, to help traders execute their strategies effectively.
