Stock Market LIVE Update | Sensex rises over 200 points | Nifty above 23,700

Sensex surged over 200 points, while Nifty climbed above 23,700, reflecting positive market sentiment. BlackRock expanded its bitcoin offerings to Europe, launching the iShares Bitcoin ETP, listed in Paris, Amsterdam, and Frankfurt. Top gainers included HEG Ltd. (15.48%), Graphite India Ltd. (11.14%), and Blue Dart Express Ltd. (10.75%). On the losing side, Dixon Technologies (India) Ltd. fell by 5.67%, Kaveri Seed Company Ltd. dropped 5.53%, and Foce India Ltd. declined by 5.01%.

  1. General Trends:

    • Asian stocks climbed early Tuesday after US markets had one of their best days this year, boosted by signs that President Trump’s trade sanctions may be less severe than expected.

  2. Specific Index Performance:

    • The Nikkei 225 surged 1.3% above 38,000, while the broader Topix Index climbed 0.7% to 2,810 on Tuesday, with the latter approaching an eight-month high.

    • Australia's S&P/ASX 200 Index climbed 0.6% on Tuesday, surpassing 7,980 to reach its highest level in over two weeks.

India Market Outlook

  1. Market in Previous Session:

    • Benchmark indices Nifty 50 and Sensex extended their winning streak on 24th March for the sixth consecutive session, reclaiming one-month highs as the bulls overpowered the bears, marking a strong rebound from the correction phase.

    • At close, the Sensex was up 1,078.87 points or 1.4 percent at 77,984.38, and the Nifty was up 307.95 points or 1.32 percent at 23,658.35.

    • All sectoral indices closed firmly in the green, with banking, capital goods, IT, oil & gas, power, realty, and PSU banks leading the charge, rallying between 1-3% amid strong buying interest.

    • The BSE Midcap and Small-cap indices witnessed robust traction, climbing over 1% each as broader market sentiment remained upbeat.


TRADE SETUP FOR MAR 25

  1. Nifty Short-Term Outlook:

    • Nifty continued its rally for the sixth consecutive session, gaining over 1,700 points or 7.7% in the last 14 sessions. The index formed a strong bullish candle with a higher high, higher low, and a bullish gap below its base (23,350-23,433), indicating strength.

    • In the process, Nifty decisively closed above the 200-day EMA, fully recovering its losses for CY25. Notably, the current pullback of 1,700 points is the largest since the all-time high of September 2024, suggesting that rallies are becoming more extended.

    • Looking ahead, we expect the index to maintain a positive bias and gradually move towards the 23,800 level in the coming sessions, aligning with the February 2025 high. Immediate support is seen at 23,200-23,000, which coincides with the 50-day EMA and the recent trendline breakout zone. 

  2. Intraday Levels:

    • Nifty: Intraday resistance is at 23,800 followed by 23,890 levels. Conversely, downside support is located at 23,530, followed by 23,400.

    • Bank Nifty: Intraday resistance is positioned at 52,000, followed by 52,330, while downside support is found at 51,410, followed by 51,200.


Derivative Market Analysis

  1. Nifty:

    • The dominance of put writers is clearly visible at 23,500 and 23,600, which will serve as support levels for Nifty.

    • The highest call OI has shifted towards the 25,000 level, previously at 24,000, suggesting that call writers are cautious about the upside potential.

    • The participation of call writers is not very active, and the unwinding of positions suggests a positive data point.

    • According to the option chain, Nifty's immediate range is between 23,500 and 24,000, where immediate call OI has been noted.

    • The Nifty put-call ratio has increased by 0.07 and is now positioned at 1.22.

  2. Bank Nifty:

    • Put writers have shifted their positions to higher levels, with the highest put OI noted at 51,000, followed by 51,500, which will serve as immediate support.

    • Call writers have unwound their positions and shifted the highest call OI addition to the 54,000 level, previously at 52,000, indicating a positive data point.

    • According to option chain analysis, the broader range for Bank Nifty is between 51,000 and 54,000.

    • The Bank Nifty put-call ratio has declined by 0.02 and is now positioned at 1.24.

US Share Market News

  1. Performance Overview:

    • US benchmark stock indexes ended higher on Monday as traders monitored tariff developments and a survey revealing an unexpected rise in private-sector output growth.

  2. Sector-Specific Movements:

    • The Nasdaq Composite gained 2.3% to 18,188.6, while the S&P 500 rose 1.8% to 5,767.6. The Dow Jones Industrial Average advanced 1.4% to 42,583.3. Barring utilities that closed little changed, all sectors logged gains, led by consumer discretionary.

  3. Economic Indicators: 

  • The Trump administration is set to announce tariffs on automobiles soon and on pharmaceuticals in the near future. Trump stated that the US will impose a 25% tariff on countries buying oil or gas from Venezuela, starting April 2.
