ONGC Share Price

Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) saw a significant 78% surge in its consolidated net profit for the fourth quarter of FY24 compared to the previous year. Despite this, the explorer's revenue from operations only saw a slight increase during the January-March 2024 period.

- Consolidated net profit stood at Rs 11,526.53 crore in Q4, up from Rs 6,478.23 crore in the same period last year. However, net profit only marginally increased from the December quarter.

- EBITDA for Q4 rose to Rs 25,772 crore from Rs 15,752 crore during the corresponding period last year.

- The company's board recommended a final dividend of Rs 2.50 per equity share of face value Rs 5 each for FY24, subject to shareholder approval.

- Crude oil price realisation from ONGC’s nominated fields was $80.81 per barrel for Q4, compared to $77.12 a year back.

- Total crude oil production increased by 2.4% in Q4 to 5.359 million metric tonnes (MMT) from last year, but total oil production for FY24 declined by 1.6%.

- Total gas production in Q4 declined by 3% at 5.101 BCM (billion cubic metres) from last year, with a 3.3% fall for the full year (2023-24).

- ONGC invested around Rs 37,000 crore in capital expenditure for FY24, compared to Rs 30,208 crore spent last year.

Additionally, ONGC is seeking foreign partners to reverse declining output at its Mumbai High fields, offering a share of revenue from incremental production and a fixed fee but no equity stake. The company floated an international tender on June 1, seeking global technical services providers to improve production and recovery at the Mumbai High field. Bidders have been asked to quote quarterly incremental production they can enable over the 10-year contract period, along with the percentage share of revenue they seek from the sale of oil and gas produced over the baseline production.

During FY24, ONGC declared 11 discoveries and drilled 541 wells, the highest recorded in the past 34 years, comprising 103 exploratory and 438 development wells. Read less
