Quarterly - ACC Q2 Results FY24-25

In Q2 FY25, ACC achieved remarkable results, posting its highest quarterly revenue in the last five years at ₹4,614 Cr. The company’s focus on cost reduction led to a significant drop in operating expenses, which improved operational efficiencies. Despite a slight decline in margins, ACC delivered sustainable growth in an otherwise challenging macroeconomic environment.

The cement giant recorded a 15% increase in sales volume, reaching 9.3 million tonnes of cement and clinker, marking the highest volume achieved in a Q2 series over the past five years.

Segment Highlights

ACC's performance in Q2 FY25 was primarily driven by significant improvements in operational efficiencies across its key segments:

  • Cement Segment: ACC recorded a strong sales volume growth of 15% YoY, reaching 9.3 million tonnes, the highest in any Q2 series over the last five years. This growth was supported by a 2% increase in trade sales volume and higher premium product sales, which grew by 3.7 percentage points YoY, now contributing 36% to trade sales.
  • Cost Efficiency: The company achieved a 15% reduction in kiln fuel costs, owing to optimized fuel sourcing and increased use of captive coal. The average thermal value dropped from 768 kCal to 735 kCal, with expectations for further improvements in upcoming quarters.
  • Ready-Mix Concrete (RMC) Segment: ACC's RMC sales volume was slightly down, standing at 0.61 million cubic meters compared to 0.64 million cubic meters in Q2 FY24. However, the segment continues to contribute to ACC's diversified product offerings.

Sustainability Initiatives: ACC enhanced its sustainability performance, increasing the use of waste-derived resources to 10.2% of total fuel consumption. The company also expanded its renewable energy usage to 14.1% of total energy consumption, aligning with its long-term Net Zero goals.
