West Texas Intermediate crude oil decreased 2.1% to $73.10 a barrel whereas Brent crude oil futures fell below $77 per barrel on Monday, marking a two-week low,
Gold dropped 1.2% to $2,746.10 per troy ounce, while silver fell 1.9% to $30.61 per ounce.

Specific Index Performance:
A selloff was triggered after a cheap AI model from Chinese startup DeepSeek climbed to the top of Apple’s app store, sparking concerns that valuations of the technology may be tough to justify.
Japan's Nikkei had declined 1.3% to 39,045.81, while the broader Topix was up 0.36% at 2,768.43.
Australia's S&P/ASX 200 Index gained 0.1% to around 8,415, marking its second consecutive day of gains as investors returned from the holiday-extended weekend.
India Market Outlook
Market in Previous Session:
Indian equity indices closed on a weak note on January 27th, with the Nifty ending below 22,850.
At close, the Sensex was down 824.29 points or 1.08 percent at 75,366.17, and the Nifty was down 263.05 points or 1.14 percent at 22,829.15.
The Indian market was dragged lower by broad-based selling across sectors, fueled by disappointing earnings and weak global sentiment.
The weak sentiment was made worse by the ongoing US trade disputes, including with Colombia. Increased volatility is likely to continue this week, with key events like the FOMC meeting, expiry week, and the Union Budget ahead.
TRADE SETUP FOR JAN 28
Nifty Short-Term Outlook:
The index has formed a substantial bearish candle, marked by a lower high and lower low, along with a bearish gap overhead (23,050–23,007), indicating a continuation of the downtrend.
Nifty has also broken below the lower boundary of the nine-session range (23,000–23,430), signaling further weakness. The decline is expected to extend toward the 22,600–22,500 levels, based on the measured implications of the recent range breakdown.
Volatility is likely to remain elevated in the upcoming sessions due to key market triggers, including the Indian Union Budget 2025 and potential shifts in US Presidential policies. To signal a pause in the downtrend, the index needs to establish higher highs and higher lows on the daily chart. Resistance is seen at 23,430, where the highs of the last two weeks converge.
Intraday Levels:
Nifty: Intraday resistance is at 22,970 followed by 23,050 levels. Conversely, downside support is located at 22,710, followed by 22,600.
Bank Nifty: Intraday resistance is positioned at 47,800, followed by 47,510, while downside support is found at 48,320, followed by 48,600.
Derivative Market Analysis
Nifty:
The highest Call OI addition has been observed at the 23,000 level, followed by 22,900. This zone will act as immediate resistance for Nifty.
Put writers are shifting their positions to lower levels, with notable additions observed at the 22,400 Put, while the highest Put OI is placed at 22,000. This suggests that writers are becoming cautious about a potential downside move.
Short covering in Nifty is possible if the price surpasses and sustains above the 23,000 level. However, if the price breaches and holds below 22,800, a correction is likely toward the 22,600 and 22,400 levels.
According to the option chain, the immediate range for Nifty is between 22,800 and 23,000. A range break on either side could trigger a further directional move.
The Nifty Put-Call Ratio has declined by 0.09 and is now positioned at 0.75.
Bank Nifty:
The highest Put OI addition has been noted at the 47,000 level, while immediate additions are observed at the 47,900 level, which could act as crucial support.
The major Call OI addition has been observed at the 49,000 level, while immediate Call OI is seen at the 48,000 mark.
If the price holds above the 48,000 mark, a potential pullback is possible toward 48,500, followed by 49,000.
Bank Nifty has shown a decline in price along with a rise in OI, indicating a short buildup position.
The Bank Nifty Put-Call Ratio has slightly improved by 0.03 and is now positioned at 0.59.
